Recently, a litter of one-week-old kittens was rescued and taken to an animal shelter in Montreal, Canada. The kittens were so weak and required round-the-clock feedings, so some volunteers at the shelter stepped up to care for them.
While most of kittens were thriving under the volunteers’ care, there was a ginger kitten that was struggling to survive. Thankfully, Jess, an experienced rescuer, decided to help the poor baby. She brought the kitten home and named him Baby Mars. She took care of him and stayed by his side all the time.
After several sleepless nights and huge efforts, Baby Mars was finally strong enough to eat without a tube. However, he was still very small and had to be fed from a syringe. Jess tried to nurse the kitten back to health so he could be adopted into a good home.
Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue, offered to help and took him into their care. “Jess took great care of the kitten. She fed him every couple of hours, kept him warm and loved. That’s what saved his life,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal said.
Coralie, a foster volunteer of Chatons Orphelins Montréal, agreed to foster the little guy until he was healthy and big enough to find a forever home. However, Baby Mars doesn’t want to leave his foster mom. He insists on staying with her family.
The ginger boy loves Coralie so much that he follows her everywhere she goes. He loves curling up on her lap and snuggling into her arms when he naps.
Baby Mars won over his foster family, so they decided to adopt him. “At three months old, Mars was officially adopted by his foster family. It’s the perfect match.”
