Feral Cat With Injured Leg Decided To Put Her Trust In Humans

Rescuing feral cats is never an easy task as they are wild, fierce and absolutely want nothing to do with humans even when they are in some serious troubles. Not many feral cats could understand that we are trying to help them. But even though it’s tough, sometimes we still have to do it anyway because we can’t just ignore such pitiful creatures.

A Flatbush Cats volunteer spotted this little tabby wandering on the streets of Brooklyn, New York with a severely injured leg. It was already late at night, but he still spent hours trying to trap the cat because he knew that girl desperately needed medical attention, and he just couldn’t pass her over.

The rescuers named the cat Kirby. Kirby was already several months old, which meant she was no longer suitable to be socialized, but they still promised to do their best to give her the best life they could inside a safe home.

The capture really freaked the poor kitty out, but the scared Kirby decided to trust them anyway. Maybe she was fully aware of her terrible situation.

Kirby had a deep puncture wound on the inside of her front leg. As her vet wanted it to be able to drain, they couldn’t wrap her leg with a bandage or something similar. Instead, they helped Kirby clean it frequently.

After a few days of living under the care of the rescuers, Kirby started to relax and revealed her sweet side. Since Kirby’s leg was injured, they carried her most of the time and the adorable kitty really enjoyed their “service”, even after her leg was strong enough to walk on her own.

She simply loved being the center of attention.

Thanks to their unconditional love and care, Kirby quickly recovered, but it also meant they had to say goodbye to that endearing girl.

The rescuers found Kirby an amazing new home with two loving mommies and an older sister – a ginger tabby named Poppy. They got along pretty well.
